A regular volunteer at our Saturday supper is a student at the Lycée Français of New York and has compiled a cookbook that includes her experience of volunteering. Proceeds from sales of the book will benefit HTNC. The book can be ordered from Amazon.
The Lycée's Foodies is a cookbook crafted over 2 years by the students of the Lycée Français de New York ranging from 7th to 12th grade. Every week, students gathered to collaborate on the book, brainstorming, creating, testing, tasting and refining recipes. At the heart of this cookbook is an appreciation for the cultural and communal significance of food. Over 60 nationalities are represented among LFNY families, and we wished to reflect this diversity in our cookbook. In The Lycée's Foodies, 20+ recipes are written, representing 20+ different cultures and traditions, each of which has their own and unique story and origin.
Food is about more than nutrition and flavor, it is about the love that goes into it and the communion it creates between those who share the meal. We hope you'll explore our cookbook, try out the recipes, and share them with the people you love and cherish, and those you don't know yet.
